APV 24/7 Drop-Off Kiosk: The APV® Software

Drop off and retrieve your vehicle keys 24/7

What Is the After-Sales Kiosk Service?

We enable car dealerships, certified repair centers, and vehicle rental companies to offer their customers a 24/7 key drop-off and pickup service. This is made possible by our range of contactless APV check-in kiosks. These solutions come in two product lines: the 24/7 drop-off kiosks, and the express check-in kiosks, which act as a support service during regular dealership hours.

These contactless kiosks feature secure, connected lockers and an embedded APV® software solution, which guides your customers through the key drop-off process independently, outside of your dealership’s regular opening hours. Kiosk solutions are becoming increasingly common in dealerships, with rising demand and early pilot sites now expanding deployments across all their locations.

That’s why in this article, we’ll take a closer look at the after-sales drop-off kiosks we deploy for the automotive service sector. This software solution is the result of our combined technical expertise, delivering a practical, tailored answer to the needs of car dealerships.

APV 24/7 Drop-Off Kiosk: The APV® Software

Dedicated Resources for the APV® IPSIP 24/7 Drop-Off Kiosk Project

Deploying a 24/7 software-based solution requires both expertise and resources. At IPSIP, over 10 network administrators and engineers are continuously involved in the development of these projects. Project support and sales teams also work closely with the technical staff to ensure seamless service delivery. Nearly 20 professionals are fully dedicated to serving our clients such as Peugeot, Volkswagen, Toyota, and BMW.

Our 24/7 after-sales drop-off kiosk solutions are fully secured and continuously monitored by IPSIP teams. They ensure the availability and safety of both the kiosks and your data. These solutions also benefit from IPSIP’s cybersecurity and SOC services — a critical asset at a time when dealerships are increasingly targeted by cyberattacks.

Built-in 4G/LTE Internet Connectivity

We have chosen to connect our kiosks via a dedicated and secure 4G/LTE line using INSYS ICOM M2M routers for several key reasons:

  • To ensure 24/7 availability of the kiosks and embedded applications
  • To segment and isolate the kiosks from your internal IT infrastructure
  • To guarantee fully autonomous and seamless operation for your dealership

Deployment of the 24/7 Key Drop-Off Kiosk Solution

The deployment of the APV® solution is managed by IPSIP both in France and internationally. Rollouts began in 2019 in mainland France and have recently expanded into European and Southeast Asian markets. The key challenge lies in scaling up and industrializing this solution for large-scale deployment.

That’s why IPSIP developed APV® with a resilient architecture, ensuring 24/7 availability. Our teams have taken every measure to deliver a user experience that lives up to the expectations of leading automotive manufacturers who place their trust in us.

A major challenge has been the deployment of cloud environments for each client, ensuring the highest uptime for the 24/7 kiosks. Each customer benefits from a dedicated environment with its own tools (DMS, scheduling systems, e-payment) and operates independently based on internal workflows.

Ipsip oversees the monitoring of the APV® application, its multi-cloud infrastructure, and support services — all delivered in multiple languages to support international projects.

Today, over 40 certified repairers rely on our solution.

APV® Platform: A Tailor-Made Solution for the Automotive After-Sales Industry

Each equipped site can access real-time statistics on kiosk activity, including daily drop-offs and customer satisfaction ratings.

The platform is designed to support a wide range of integrations and third-party applications. APV® connects seamlessly with e-payment systems, e-signature tools, DMS, OEM scheduling tools, and integrated email/SMS services.

All of this is embedded in a customer journey built with experts in the automotive after-sales sector.

The Self-Service Journey

Seamless Integration with Your Existing Systems

  • Appointment Scheduling

Your customer schedules an appointment online or by phone.

  • SMS Appointment Code

They receive a unique code via SMS, which they will use to identify themselves at the kiosk.

  • Digital Work Order Approval

Your after-sales team sends a work order that the customer signs either electronically or via email to authorize the service.

  • Secure Online Payment

Once the work is complete, the customer receives a secure payment link by SMS. After payment is confirmed, they receive a new code to retrieve their keys.

  • Key Pickup

The customer returns to the kiosk and uses the SMS code to collect their vehicle keys.

The entire solution easily integrates with your appointment system, website, and existing e-payment tools. We are already integrated with leading calendar software as well as the main Dealer Management Systems (DMS) used in the automotive sector.

Ipsip provides expert guidance and recommendations to ensure smooth integration into your environment.
